Soft milk buns



Ingredients

  • 200 g milk

  • 40 g sugar

  • 11 g active dry yeast

  • 400 g multipurpose flour

  • 30 g Canola oil (or 40 g butter)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 Tbs milk


Method

  1. Mix milk, sugar and yeast and let this mix rest until it bubbles (5 to 10 minutes);

  2. Add in flour, oil or butter and salt and work the dough until it’s smooth;

  3. Divide your dough into 22 parts and roll each one into a ball of about 30 g. Lay them on an ovenproof tray lined with baking paper and let them rest for 15 to 20 minutes in a covered dark place. Make sure you space your buns as they will rise and double in size;

  4. Bake in the middle rack of your oven at 200 C for 25 minutes. Your buns are all ready!
