Ingredients
1 1/2 cup (215g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 stick (110g) unsalted butter
1/2 cup (110g) brown sugar
6 tsp (25g) granulated sugar
1 large egg (57g)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup M&M's or Smarties (this can be replaced by 3/4 cup of chocolate chips)
Method
Cut butter into cubes, then place it in a cast iron skillet and let melt on low heat until brown. Then let it cool for a couple of minutes;
When the butter is room-temperature, add in sugar directly into the skillet and fold it in with a wooden spoon until creamy;
Add in egg and vanilla and mix until just combined;
Gradually fold in the flour, salt and baking soda. Make sure you do not over mix your dough;
Spread dough out to the edges of your skillet and top it with M&M's;
Turn your stove-top heater on and cook on low-medium heat for 20 minutes;
Let cool off for a couple of minutes, then transfer to a wire rack until cool... or eat it right away with a dollop of your favorite ice-cream!
