Calzoncini pizza pockets

Ingredients

  • 12 empanada disks*

  • 12 slices ham

  • 200g mozzarella cheese (grated or cut into little cubes)

  • 6 Tbs of tomato sauce

  • 1 Tbs olive oil


Method

  1. Lay your empanada disks as per picture;

  2. Wrap up a little spoon of mozzarella in a ham slice;

  3. Place the ham and cheese roll on top of the empanada disk then fold the dough over and seal it with the help of a fork;

  4. Brush with a little olive oil;

  5. Bake at 190C for 3 minutes, then lower the temperature down to 180C and bake for additional 5 minutes;

  6. Turn your pizza pocket and bake for 8 more minutes;

  7. Place a spoon of tomato sauce on top of each empanada then top with mozzarella cheese;

  8. Bake for 3 more minutes and they're ready to serve!
